The south is the nicest part
Got to say that I love it down here. I spent a few weeks traveling around tekking and doing the touristy things before comin down to the south. Stayed in Krabi first, Koh Sok and then went to the islands. Youve got it all here paradie.![Photo](/users/1413/54/65/28/smiles/88523.gif)

Love the south, been coming here for over 30 years now. First time was when I was 13. Been to most of the provinces in Thailand over the years but it's always the South that pulls me back.

I have to say that Trat is far nicer than Nakhon... But then again, I was there on holiday, here I am working... Still,,, Thailand is Thailand!

'the south', a very broad term.
Parts are great, many are not great at all. Varied.

What's not great? Overall I personally think the south has to be the best part of this country.
You have the frequently dried up dust-bowls of Isaan and the north, the sheer number of people in the central region and down here what else do you need to make it great?
Someone mentioned Trat, sure it's home to the main Koh Chang but even that island which I haven't been to in about 3 years is getting overly developed.
No, the south it is for me.

I stand corrected sir. and with....6 months to think about it since i made that comment I thnk you're right. With the exception of the places I've not been to because they're maybe not very nice, everywhere is great!! ![The south is the nicest part 84590](/users/1413/54/65/28/smiles/84590.gif)

Re: The south is the nicest part
i went to Songkhla to other week...
very nice..... i stayed in a nice hotel.. the BP ON THE BEACH.. 1100 baht with a sea view..( there is another nuce place to stay called the pavillion which is 900 per night) i found Songkhla very nice with a few little home comforts.. bread shop and a few nice places to eat .. a lovely beach where people sat and had picnics .. not very touristy which was nice.. and prices to fit my pocket ( thai salary) .. i will go again and it only takes approx, 1hour 30 mins by car to get there if you go via the coastal route.

I still prefer the vest coast to the east coast... Maybe just me but there is something in the water over there... Might be the hot girls or the good foreign food you can get...

There was/is a reason for the V and not the W, the person got the hint...
West is the way to go... Like the wild west... Or like the world wide web...
