Road Trip To Udon
I am going with my mate on a road trip this vacation. We are going up north, do you have any suggestions to where we could go? The main goal is just past Udon Thani- I used to live in a small village there called Ban Thai Hai... (2 hours on a bus north of Udon)... So what should we see on the way? Where should we stop? Ps. It is not my GF that is going and we are both boys with interest in the other gender)

Re: Road Trip To Udon
I Have not been as far a Udon...
but i have been to khorat.. i had a pleasent stay there... and it is a lot cheaper than bangkok.. but you can buy many products there.. just as if you were in a tourist place..
on the way to Khorat, i am sure it is the same highway as if you were travelling to Udon.. there is a place called chok chai.. which is a steak house.. if you are passing it .. STOP.. go and have a steak .. it is better than SIZZLER..
has any been there?

It is not difficult to be better than SIZZLER, my mate refused to go there before I dragged him in the doors there... Now he likes it...
I have heard about the meat from Chok Chai, it is sold as AUSSI beef here in Thailand due to the way they feed it... (they do look delicious when I look at them)... Thanks for the tip Gold Member!

Re: Road Trip To Udon
There are in fact a handful of Chok Chai farms and restaurants spread around north of BKK. There's a farm south of Korat and another at Saraburi too if I remember correctly. The main restaurant is next to the farm on the main road from Korat down to BKK with another restaurant in Rangsit ..... or there used to be. If it is still there I don't know.
Incidentally the guy that owns the farms likes riding around on a horse like an old style cowboy.

If I had as much money as he does, I would like to ride around on a horse all day long too... Maybe not in Thailand but somewhere, sure,, living the life in the outdoors... NICE!
