i heard there is a place next to siam thani moo baan that sells second hand furniture? has anyone bought anything from this place?? is there others like it in town?

That shop is a rip-off! Same goes for most second-hand good in Thailand. Vehicles, computers, furniture - it doesn't matter! It's almost all way over-priced in my opinion. I don't know who actually pays those inflated prices for used goods, but they must be crazy.

That said, you will often get some reasonable deals from teachers at the end of their contract. Of course the selection is zero and the quality could be well below what you want, but it's worth asking around especially considering the school year, and inevitably some contracts, is up in feb/march. Besides that, I can suggest looking in Surat Thani for furniture if you've got a truck, much better selection and prices.
