D’Pelican Inn Pub & Restaurant opens in Nakhon Si Thammarat
The populair D’Pelican Inn Pub & Restaurant in Bangkok is set to open a branch in Nakhon Si Thammarat around 1st May 2011. The location will be on the mainroad just opposite the Harley Davidson motorbike dealer at the SUSCO gasoline station.
As far as I know it is ready to serve guests already now....so maybe I see you there someday soon

The owner, Tom, says they´re a bit delayed.....I guess also due to the recent flooding. But should be ready to serve guests within a few weeks....

Re: D’Pelican Inn Pub & Restaurant opens in Nakhon Si Thammarat
Bangkok Branch of D´Pelican Inn has been open for ages serving American BBQ Specials and other goodies....they´re on the way opening soon in NST ...
This is what I wrote on my Blog:
D’Pelican Inn is a quaint, friendly pub/restaurant and guesthouse located in the heart of the popular Bangkok lower Sukhumvit Road area.
The owner, Swedish national Tom Norrdell, says that the Nakhon Si Thammarat branch will not have rooms for rent, as the competition is somewhat too fierce at the moment, but maybe later they will change their mind.
When I ask why Tom chose Nakhon Si Thammarat for his new branch, he answers that he for quite a long time have been considering opening a branch somewhere without too much nightlife and he found Nakhon Si Thammarat very interesting with both Tesco/Lotus, Big C, Carrefour and Home Pro moving in. Also Chevron are moving some of their logistics to the area, whish means more potential customers who might enjoy some western styled nightlife atmosphere and American style BBQ and other delicious meals.
D’Pelican Inn also has the only Shuffleboard in Thailand, a Big Screen TV showing all the sports and Live Music.
They will have a full European menu with some Swedish dishes similar to what they have in Bangkok with some American style BBQ and Tex Mex as well. So if you sometimes get tired of the usual Thai food, I suggest you pay D’Pelican a visit in the start of March 2011. See you there!
Tom Norrdell also states that they have great success with their Pelican Catering Service in Bangkok, and his aim is to offer this service to residents in Khanom, Sichon and Nakhon Si Thammarat as well.
You can visit their website here in the bottom, as for now there is no mention of the new branch in Nakhon, but it’s just a matter of time before it will be added.

Re: D’Pelican Inn Pub & Restaurant opens in Nakhon Si Thammarat
Maybe I was looking in the wrong area.
Theres a Harley bike place opposite Home Pro, thats where I was talking about.
That said, I did see another big bike place joined to a petrol station further up towards Robinsons, but didn't notice any new joints.
Be nice to have draught beer though if they do it, and a bit more drinking venue competition has gotta be good for the area.
As for the accomodation; no worries as far as I'm concerned, I sleep wherever I fall - even porch ledges can make a comfortable bed.

I just got an email back from the management of D'Pelican, and they're expecting a July opening.

I know where this place is now, red and yellow 3 storey building.
Passed there today and they have removed the wood covering the windows downstairs, so maybe not too long before they open.
Be great if they have proper draught beer..... or Scrumpy Jack

Re: D’Pelican Inn Pub & Restaurant opens in Nakhon Si Thammarat
well, if I've got the right place; heading from Tesco to Ocean, its about the 4th building on the left after the traffic lights that take you to Italian Pizza man, Bangkok bar, Brothers, and Coppee (see my map thread if you dont know where these places are).
The building looks yellow (ish) with red highlights.
Doesnt look like its gonna be open any time soon though.
