Teacher Handbook

After all the hassle I've had this term over what is and is not in included in peoples contracts, I sat down and started putting together a teacher handbook.

Our contracts are pants. They were copied from a neighboring school about 9 years ago, read different in Thai and English, and are vague to say the least.

The handbook, I hope, will help to sort out a lot of the mess, but so far the school has yet to meet me half way and look at putting things straight in the contracts. They could at the very least agree to add "And other duties as stated in your teacher handbook"...... but no, its ok as it is.

Anyway, part of the handbook I have started to list useful contact numbers and create a map of popular places and useful places (with contact numbers where possible) that I hope will help new starters to find their feet.

If anyone wants a copy then just ask. I might even give you the full version with our do's and dont's etc.

The file is quite large due to the map images; I will try to compress them down if anyone can tell me a way to host a .doc file on here.

This is still "work in progress", so open to suggestions for any info that can be added. I was thinking on the lines of contact numbers, web/email addresses, plus ratings / comments. I suggest the latter be added to the Google Maps stuff Admin has done.

Is there any way you can add other things like direction arrows to transport office/ tax office and maybe some of the main moobahns?

I guess the best way to do that Admin would be to upload all that info onto Google Maps (can't give directions if I don't know where people live).

Google Maps would be able to do that though, although I've never uploaded any info onto their app before.

My map was just for reference as part of a new teacher welcome pack that I've been putting together. Printed version for when web access not possible.

Just updated the maps with some more mansions and hotels; thank you Admin.
Would be good to add phone numbers to these if poss, will try to find em.

I know from my own "welcome" here that there was no info about what was where. Hope this helps people.

I will add other schools to the map if people want em (some may be off the edge of the map though)

BTW, the maps on here are cut by the hosting thingy, my versions are a bit wider.
Any interested people can request them from me.

I can put all of those onto a zoomable map ..... easy!

Just to bump this thread again until the next set of EP contest begin and we can start the much loved passtime of mud slinging again.........

I have recently updated the above map and contact numbers - latest version now has 48 51 locations and more contact numbers, plus some more useful web links.

I am not prepared to go through the ball-ache of writing the lot in HTML for our select group of followers to view........ or 1 over reacting moderator to delete for that matter. So, Admin, can you add in a way to upload / host either a pdf or doc file (that host an image thing won't allow them)?

Failing that, and if there is a call for it, I will host it on 1 of my sites and link to it in here, but then that would be using MY hosting traffic allowance.

The map and links info is 760kb in pdf format, or 1.7mb in doc format (those are BYTES not bits by the way, I'm just too lazy to hold the shift key as I typed them).
The fill version is 1.8mb, but contains stuff relating to the way we work, so might not apply to everyone.

If anyone wants a copy then PM me your email and I'll consider it.
