Hotels in Phuket

So, C-Bert will be returning to the south for a stint during my mid-term break. I'm looking forward to some time out from the BKK mayhem.
Can anyone recommend a cheap and halfway decent place to stay in Patong? It doesn't have to be on the beach as long as it's walkable to the party area.
Please let me know, I will be heading down there next Saturday night. Anyone want to come and assist me in rocking the proverbial party?

there is many places... if you go up the road where patong hospital and the police staion you will find many places from 500 upwards.. a good clean place is baan boa..
another place is ask for the libary and at the end of theat soi .. there is a cluster of hotels from 500 upwards..

also there is some hotels down the soi opp soi bangla ( sand inn on the corner) there is some place at the end of this soi from 400 upward ( jenny )
if you go furture up there is more to choose from

did you find a place to stay ? where?
