Thai Copyright Collection, sole authorised Thai broadcaster of the World Cup, will waive the broadcasting fee for enterprises located in areas severely impacted by the recent Bangkok political unrest. However, the company will collect fees from other enterprises such as hotels, pubs, discotheques, restaurants and karaoke bars at a rate of 10,000 baht for each TV monitor.

That's greedy. I would have thought that they'd generate enough profits from television advertising. I might be wrong.

to buy the rights they have to say in billions, not enough with advertising... But sure, it is greedy, it should be free... The world cup is for everyone... Sean, how will this affect you?
