There is a rumour going around that Thailand is having a nationwide problem with its internet. I have seen a noticable drop in the speed and consistency over the last couple of weeks. How's your connection been?

Until yesterday, it was fine, very slow by western standards, but fine. Then last night my internet, as well as another colleague's, was quite unusable. Grrrr!

Did anyone see the recent poll on ThaiVisa about this?

4) Call the company you use and complain (it does work)

I think that it has something to do with the badly maintained cables that are laid out here in Thailand... Too many people connecting to the few main cables... It will never end well, a cable can only contain a certain amount of traffic before it will "break down" and the net will just "become problematic".

The problem here in Thailand VS the west is the amount of cables going over to the servers... Try to surf on Thai sites and you will see the speed!

Call and complain to the company that you use...

PS. Which company is the best one?

SORRY! I think it’s my fault, I leave my pc on 100% of the time downloading everything I can get my hands on, and I have a great connection here! But then I am first in line, down my road, the only problem I really get is the thing switching off from time to time, Saturday can be a bit slow but the bandwidth is quite fair to what is expected.

Mine (TOT 3Mbps) is crap! Though my roooooter maybe partially to blame. Crappy D-Link trash!
