Rock 99 Bar and Grill

I think most people in town knows about "99"... 
It is located on the main road "Ratchaderm Road"... It is close to the Thai hotel... The correct place is bavourn plaza or something like that... 
There is a 7 eleven on the outside and the intersection has a foot bridge over it, you should be able to find it the... (give more details if needed)... 
The food there is not the best in the world and I think I am not the only one to say that the cleanliness of the place is rather bad... The tables and chairs are clean enough but the rats you can see running into the kitchen along with all the cockroaches around there has made me not go there... Prices are not too expensive but I have heard that they do have some expensive drinks... Good luck... 

Spent many a night in the Rock. Known the folk(s?) in charge a long time ago and it is I think the only drinking spot in Nakhon mentioned in the travel guide books. Cleanliness is an issue as it is in many many places but the staff are very friendly and on the whole, there is a nice atmospere about the place. I still like and pop in there fairly often, even now.

Oh good ol' Rock 99!!! Man... I used to live in that place! Most every night! Hey Snowy remember when that flying cockroach flew down my cleavage???? that was hilarious!!! Deffo not clean (nothing is in thailand anyway), deffo good food, deffo good company

I love Rock 99. I like the food and the staff and the location. That's where I first met Mr. Admin and a fair few other folks as well. It has died off a bit in the last year, though. Friday night at Rock used to be a relatively large event. We used to line up all of the outside tables to make a super long one and a lot of the teachers in town used to gather there to begin their Friday night. Things have changed, and I miss those days a bit. However, I'm sure there'll still be more big Friday nights at Rock, perhaps not every week, though.

Might call in this weekend, ain't been for a couple of weeks.

i have been going to the old 99 for awhile now.. the place has got very popular again.. it is busy most nights... fans for outside .. even has fancy mozzy repellents around the outdoor seating area.. the inside has been done up .. and the food has improved alot.. something to do with , them geting their old chef back .. nice food ,, western and thai .. go down and see for yourself.. they have started to have pizza again on fridays only.. and they are good,, starting price 140....

hmmm pizza... Good!

rock do pasta dishes,,, soups,, double cheese burgers, ( which are big) thai dishes which start at 40 baht.. if you are on a budget...
i tend to like the salads....
t bone steaks , lamb chops , this place has been getting busy even during the week..... a mixed crowd of thais and farangs... and mixed ages ... easy to park your bike or car .. you can sit inside or out .. it is peaceful ..... go there once , you never know you may like it.

Ok, Goldmember, how much did you get for writing that advertisement up??? Free salad for a week???You forgot that they have larger wine glasses than other restaurants in town (even the foreign owned ones).And that you can bring your own wine bottle and they just don't care since they have a friendly enviroment!!!

I read the OP, but still don't really know exactly where Rock 99 is located. Is Ratchaderm the road with Robinson's on it or the post office?

POST OFFICE.. opp. thai hotel there is a 7/11 go down that small soi next to 7/11 ... and on the left you will find rock 99

'Farewell' sounds so, erm ..... permanent. You mean you won't be coming back down for a visit then, just to see old friends, go to a beach or even to just breathe some clean air?

I wonder whether they'll have enough chairs and tables for tonight. We may have to have an 'inside area' or just bring all the chairs and tables outside.
Rain would be an interesting addition to proceedings.

it is like it was before.. the old chef is back and they have done the place up.
