Words that sound like they start with 'Z' but actually begin with 'X':
Xanax (2 x's, 1 at the beginning AND 1 at the end...marvellous), Xylophone (1 of the most underrated musical instruments...OF ALL TIME!!), Xerxes and Xavier (both truly excellent names), and Xebra of course (one of the greatest animals...half tiger/half horse..just splendid!)
Any others...Am I getting off topic?
Xanadu (one of the greatest movies of all-time time); Xenophobia (a mental illness affecting Thai's).

Yes, I forgot about Xenophopia...surely there are more. I aspire to being some sort of specialist in this area.

Back on topic ...... I was debating last night at around 11 to take one or not. Well, cut a long story short, I didn't and because of that I got zilch sleep, not one wink so unless I have a few beers tonight, I'll be dropping an Xanax 100% guaranteed.

Yes, do it up. I'm intrigued by this so called Xanax now. What does it feel like... the same as Valium or?

Dunno! I've only ever had one and that was the other night at about 3 in the morning. As far as I know they help/make you sleep. How they work is beyond me. Maybe our medical man, The Doyen will know.

Yes, it feels very similar to Valium. They're both from a family of drugs called Benzodiazepines. They're both used to treat anxiety. Xanax is very useful in treating panic attacks. Strictly speaking though, it's not a sleeping pill, but it does have that effect at night. You could take one in the daytime and still be awake and feeling pretty nice. However, don't try and drive with one under your belt as your judgement will be impaired. Also, alcohol potentiates the effects of all Benzodiazepines.

Re: Zanax - good or bad?
If I take xanax for sleeping, I usually try to get one in me about 2 - 3 hours before I plan on sleeping. Doing that, I get to sleep at a reasonable time, don't have to spend too much time tossing and turning in bed before dozing off. By taking it earlier I also avoid some of the groggy hangover effect that is often present, and I get to enjoy the effects of the xanax! :D
If I want to go to bed at 10 - 11pm, I'll take 0.5mg - 1.0mg (a half or a whole purple football-shaped pill) at 8pm, relax, watch some TV and try to make it bed before getting too drowsy.
Good luck, Admin! Hope it works for ya!
