Plane

It looks like I will shortly be buying a ticket NST to Manchester, England. Now, I know some of you are from up that neck of the woods and have flown this route. Are there direct flights or do you have to stop-over/change somewhere en-route? Any quality airline will do (Not Aeroflot or Air India pls). What sort of price are you looking at eco/biz?

Cheers

I would recommend Etihad Airlines for any long haul flights you may take.

Depending on where I would go, Star is a good group to travel with!

SAS is my fav. they usualy speak my lingo (nice to hear) and the food is very good.

Thai is very good, they try to get you drunk!

Lufthansa is ok, good solid planes and nice entertainment systems on the larger planes!

KLM is just bad! (service is just awful)....

Aeroflot is dirt cheap!

I would not mind trying AirAsia, they are now flying to Europe! (newer planes)...

Singapore/Thai first class is the only way to go.

Plane

I don't go 1st that often but as Snowy stated, the Star Alliance group is pretty good excluding Lufty, they stopped my tap as did Gulf Air. Thai or Singapore Airlines are pretty much the only people I fly with, but, Thai's fares have gone stupid recently.

I wonder why they stopped your tap sir, how drunk were you? I have seen you in a bad shape before... Never any problems (happy drunk, as you put it) but safety on board? Do they know that you are a happy drunk??? Well, good for them that they judge people and stopped your tap... Drinking while flying is bad for your body due to dehydration, too much can actually be dangerous for you, you should thank the cabin personal... Good work...  Better than Thai that just try to get you drunk... Have another, have another, have another...
Self control are the words we should work with here...

It is a cost cutting exercise - what with oil prices and salaries forever rising the airlines have to make economies wherever they can!

Manchester, England Empty bahts for foreign currency

Post by Ron Mon Feb 22, 2010 12:50 pm

So, Admin,

When you went back to England, did you bring your own quids? Or did you buy them at Suvvy? Can you give a heads up on exchanging to foreign currency... limitations, paperwork, Interpol clearance, breathalyser, etc.?
