Re: The Islands
My guess is that this is home and will never be as great as the lovely holiday spots we find. I think that it is why it is so good to get out of here once in a while...
I might contact you for some more info about that trip, it sounded nice... Very good report... Five thumbs up (help me boys)

Re: The Islands
Maybe true Snowflake, but that lovely holiday spot could just as easily be home - its no different to Nakhon in that sense.
Seriously, this was my 3rd visit to Trang. The first time was back when I was just a tourist, the 2nd was a flying visit during which she who must be obeyed commented that there was nothing to do there (she worked in Trang for a number of years). But this time, we looked past the nifty tuk tuks and the relatively compact size of the place and we were both very impressed.
She who must be obeyed, who in the past has snorkelled but not enjoyed it, is already planning a return trip to the islands..... to do more snorkelling.
FYI Snowflake, high season finishes at the end of May. They say most islands pretty much shut down for 6 months as the sea is not good during low season.
Having just purchased my latest diving toy (mask with built in camera and camcorder) I cant wait to get back out there.

She wears the trousers, I wear the diving mask (fnaar fnaar).
Too hot for trousers, so I'm happy for her to wear em, I just laze about in me boxer shorts.
Never seen a copulating fish before, cant find them in my fish of thailand book either, what do they look like?

Re: The Islands
Mask received yesterday from Hong Kong - didn't even have to pay any import tax.
Its a great bit of kit!
Not heavy or bulky, takes great shots (5Mp camera, HD video).
Just needs a bit of practice getting the line of sight right. It has cross hairs on the lenses to help, but everyones face is different, so they are not in the right place for me (also need to learn to move the head not just the eyes when panning around).
They do cheaper versions for snorkelling if anyone is interested.
