Malaysian Court Sentences Thai Woman To Hang For Drug Trafficking
Malaysia's High Court on Wednesday sentenced a Thai woman to death by hanging for trafficking cannabis five years ago, a news report said.
Roseedah Cheubong, 41, shed tears in the courtroom in the north-eastern state of Kelantan after the sentence was passed, the official Bernama news agency said.
The single mother of one was caught with more than 1 kilogram of cannabis in February 2004, while waiting in front of a petrol station.
Malaysia's tough drug laws prescribe the mandatory death sentence for those found guilty of trafficking most types of drugs.

A bit harsh!

Not at all. Id say that this part of the world, along with some Middle Eastern countries are famous for their strict punishment when it comes to drugs. People know! Sure circumstances may make them or force them to do whatever they do BUT at the end of the day it is her choice, no one elses.A bit harsh

Not at all harsh? You're joking aren't you. Just because it's their law it doesn't mean it's right, or just. Would you be saying the same thing if it was a friend or a loved one?

If you won't do the time, stay off the crime...
Yes I would say the same if it was a friend or a loved one...
Why should she get away with it???
The law there states clearly, drug trafficers face the death penalty if they are found... Easy,,, don't transport drugs...
Guess you would say to the families of the drug abusers that it is sad the poor pushers face the death penalty...
GROW UP!!!
(ps, I am not for the death penalty but the law is the law, obey it or risk the penalty!)
